Step 1 - Contact NGFCU & apply
Before you apply for a home loan or even contact a real estate agent, contact NGFCU first so that we can help you start on the right foot.
We'll begin with a homebuyer consultation to gain a better understanding of your goals, budget, and situation.
You can then submit your home loan application online - there is no charge to apply!
We'll also provide you with a free home loan pre-approval that'll come in handy when you start your home search.
Step 2 - Start your home search
This is where the fun begins! Searching for your next home can be exciting, but you'll need help from an experienced real estate agent.
If you do not have a real estate agent, your NGFCU Home Loan Concierge Specialist can refer you to a trusted agent from Compass. You could get a 20% closing credit from the agent's commission on the sale or purchase of your home - that could be THOUSANDS of dollars.
Be sure to tell your real estate agent that you're pre-approved for an NGFCU Home Loan - it'll prove that you're a serious buyer.
Step 3 - Buy your home
This is where the dream begins! Once you've found your dream home, it's time to put in an offer to purchase the property.
Your real estate agent or the seller will designate an Escrow/Title company to handle the funding of your loan, along with many other factors which will help your purchase go smoothly.
At the appropriate time, NGFCU will order a property appraisal for you.
We'll then coordinate with the escrow settlement team, and you'll sign the final papers in their office.
